Elena Berezhnaya Baby

FIGURE SKATING COUPLE ARE PARENTS ~ According to Steven Cousins website, Steven and Elena are parents. Trysten arrived on October 6th, 2007 in London and weighed 5lbs, 13 oz.
Steven Cousins is an eight-time British National Champion who is best known for his charisma and dynamic performance. He is also an experienced competitor, having participated in eight World Championships and three Winter Olympic Games (1992, 1994 & 1998). He is the first Briton to land a triple axel in competition and the youngest male skater to win the senior British Nationals. Steven's brother Paul is a skating coach and works in Ontario. Steven has also trained in Canada under Doug Leigh at the Mariposa School of Skating in Barrie. Steven has since relocated to Barrie where he trains with his coaches and brother. Cousins retired from competition and tours with Stars on Ice.

Elena Berezhnaya was born in Nevinnomyssk, USSR and was part of the skating duo with Anton Sikharulidze that shared the gold medal with Sale and Pelletier after the 2002 Olympic judging controversy. Berezhnaya has had quite a career, in 1996 she was seriously injured when her partner's (at the time) blade sliced into her skull while the pair were practicing a side-by-side camel spin and as a result she had 2 operations and temporarily lost the ability to speak. She has also tested positive for doping, one of the first publicly known cases in the history of figure skating that led to a disqualification from the 2000 European Figure Skating Championships even though it was reported that the positive result was caused by cold medication. There was also the judging controversy from the 2002 Olympics with our Canadian pairs team. The team of Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze have since turned pro.

Trysten ~ variation of Tristan ~ Celtic; full of sorrows, variant of Tristam. In Arthurian Legend, Tristan was a knight of the Round Table and tragic hero of the medieval tale Tristram and Isolde.
