Sarah McLachlan Baby


UPDATE ~ eTalk exclusive; Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan and her drummer husband Ashwin Sood welcomed their second daughter on June 22nd, 2007 in Vancouver. eTalk correspondent and Canada's own Smuthound Lainey, broke the news this week (to view the clip, click here, Tuesday's episode).

Taa-Jah (name confirmed by Sarah's publicist) is a little sister for 5 year old India Ann Sushil, 5. Fans were congratulating the couple on Sarah's myspace page.

Sarah was born in Halifax but calls Vancouver home. She has been playing instruments, including the piano and guitars, since the age of 5. She is known for her hauntingly emotional ballads with songs like Angel and I Will Remember You. Sarah is not only a successful songwriter and artist but is responsible for the Lilith Fair Tour, the first all female performer concert tour than ran for 3 successful summers.

McLachlan was awarded the Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999 for her contribution to music and her support of various women's shelters across the country. She is also an avid supporter of the ASPCA and animal rights.

The couple has been married since February of 1997, tying the the knot in Negril, Jamaica.
